Vacation Bible School Students Raise $5K for Children's Home

The Birmingham United Methodist Church students also collected school supplies for the kids at Give a Kid a Chance in Cherokee County.

The children of Birmingham United Methodist Church in Milton raised $5,000 for the United Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur during their Vacation Bible School last month.

The children held a car wash, hosted movie and pizza night, opened a lemonade stand, held a Chick-fil-A fundraiser lunch, plus did extra chores at home and found many other creative ways to contribute. Some 190 children participated in the week-long event.

In addition to the funds they raised for the Children’s Home, the children also brought in boxes of school supplies for “Give a Kid a Chance” in Cherokee County.
