Pet of the Week: Abby, a 'Chiweenie,' Has Plenty of Energy

The Atlanta Humane Society's Mansell Campus has plenty of dogs and cats available for adoption.

Little dogs are all the rage these days, so Abby cannot understand why she can’t find her perfect family.

Weighing only 18 pounds, this Dachshund-Chihuahua (Chiweenie) mix has plenty of energy to go around. Although she is small in stature she makes up for it with her big personality. She is a friendly girl with her favorite activities being rolling around on her back and frolicking in the play yards. Abby doesn’t let her little legs hold her back and is happy to run and play with her other doggie friends.

At two years old, Abby came to the Atlanta Humane Society from another shelter and is ready to trade up from shelter living to a real home with a real family. Although she is little, she would love to have a fenced in yard or a family who can take her outside to play every day. Abby gets along well with other dogs and would do well in a home with a playmate. While she enjoys her friends at the Atlanta Humane Society, she needs a full time family who can love her every day and commit themselves to her forever.
