North Fulton Community Charities Needs School Supplies

The charitable organization will hold its Back to School Health and Wellness Fair on Aug. 11.

is collecting school supplies for its Back to School Health and Wellness Fair, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m.-noon.

The local charitable organization offers health screenings and fun activities for children durign the health fair, including information and resources to help families have a healthy and safe school year.

Each year NFCC looks to hand out more than 1,000 backpacks, plus basic school supplies to go in them, to children whose families need the assistance. The organization needs financial assistance, donations of school supplies, health and safety exhibitors and volunteers to set up and help run the fair.

The Windward Rotary Club is one of many service organizations in Alpharetta, Milton and the rest of North Fulton that is collecting these school supplies. Rotarians will drop off backpacks and other school supplies at their club meeting on successive Mondays–July 23 and 30–which will then be taken to NFCC. The club meets at noon on most Mondays at the .

The NFCC needs donations by Aug. 3.

A full list of school supplies needed by grade level accompanies this article, but the most needed supplies according to NFCC are:

Elementary School (K-5th)

  • Scissors
  • Wide ruled paper
  • Index Cards (3x5 and 5x7)
  • 12-inch ruler

Middle School (6th-8th)

  • Notebook dividers
  • Index Cards (3x5 and 5x7)
  • Calculator
  • Protractor/compass

High School (9th-12th)

  • Spiral Notebooks (4)
  • Notebook Paper (2)
  • Protractor/compass
  • Jump Drive/Memory Stick
