This part of the Kroger division raised $42,536 of what was collected for MDA.

The campaign in which customers and associates could purchase a shamrock shaped pin-up for a donation of $1 or $5 ran in stores during the month of March, according to a release from MDA.

Kroger-Atlanta Division has supported MDA for the last 12 years.  The funds raised through the annual campaign go towards research and local support programs including summer camp for kids with Muscular Dystrophy.

“Kroger remains one of the largest supporters of MDA’s efforts to provide much needed services and potentially life saving research to local families living with Muscular Dystrophy” said Sabrina Hughes, regional director of MDA’s Southeast Division. “Kroger associates and their customer’s continue to provide help and hope to children and adults with muscle disease and everyone involved really responded to this year’s campaign, even in these tough economic conditions.”

Kroger’s Atlanta Division is headquartered in Atlanta, and is one of the southeast largest retail grocery chains with more than 215 stores covering Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, Alabama and South Carolina.
