Last Chance: Join ThyssenKrupp, Other Sponsors at Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society fundraiser starts Friday evening and runs until Saturday morning, all to raise funds for the charity.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator Americas – one of the world’s leading manufacturers, installers and service providers of vertical and horizontal transportation technology – along with its sister company, ThyssenKrupp IT Services North America,  are supporting and co-sponsorshing this weekend's American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Alpharetta.

As part of their sponsorship, the Alpharetta-based companies have had more than 50 employees donate funds to the cause, sign up to walk or commit to serving as volunteers at the Relay For Life event, which will be held on April 20 at Stadium (old Milton High's old Eagles football stadium).

“As part of ThyssenKrupp’s corporate sustainability program, we continually strive to be good corporate citizens and desire to positively impact our local communities and charitable organizations,” said Richard Hussey, president and CEO of ThyssenKrupp Elevator Corp. “The Relay For Life is an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate our commitment to corporate philanthropy and support our own neighbors in their fight against cancer.”

Relay For Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, park or other gathering area, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening. Funds raised at the Relay For Life of Alpharetta are enabling the American Cancer Society to impact the lives of those touched by cancer within the community. In Alpharetta, and nearly 5,100 other communities around the globe, the Relay For Life unites people to celebrate the lives of those who have faced cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease.
