Habitat for Humanity Dedicates Homes for Two Families

North Fulton families helped build their new homes in Cherokee County.

Two more families have homes through the efforts of Habitat for Humanity–North Central Georgia at The Villages of Park Creek in Cherokee County, three miles up. GA 140 from Milton.

More than 70 staff members, volunteers and community members helped the families dedicate their homes on June 11.

The first home was built for the LaRocque family–mother, Christine and her four children ages16, 16, 9 and 7. Christine and her children worked side by side with Habitat staff, sponsors and volunteers to help build their home. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Lutheran Coalition for Habitat for Humanity sponsored the home. More than 30 family members traveled from as far as Miami to celebrate with the LaRocque family.

The second home was built for the Raymond family, consisting of parents Yvonne and Randolph and their two sons, ages 14 and 6. The home was sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities, Cisco, Habitat for Humanity Youth United Program, State Farm and the Bike and Build Grant.
