Why Go?: Join 2011 Milton High School Cross Country Invitational 5K Community Race on the official Milton High School Cross Country Course.   The course is a looped course that is set entirely in the woods and school grounds of Milton High School. The run is a fund raiser for the Milton Cross Country Booster club and proceeds from the event will go towards improving and maintaining the paths on the course.

Why Go?: This magical evening benefiting foster children awaits you and your friends at The Manor Golf and Country Club. Come enjoy dinner, music from CSI and a special guest speaker, Ashely Rhodes-Courter, author of a New York Times Best Selling Book “Three Little Words”. The evening will also include a live and silent auction. This is the night for you to help make foster children’s dreams come true.

Why Go?: “Back to Church Sunday” is a national movement of churches to encourage formerly churched people to rediscover church and try it again. According to LifeWay Research, 38 percent of people are receptive or highly receptive to attending church. 82 percent say they would be open to attending church if a friend invited them. But, unfortunately only 2 percent of active church-going Christians invited someone to church last year! Sts. Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church is joining with thousands of churches to help change those statistics by inviting everyone to attend church on Sunday, September 18 at 10 AM.

Why Go?: Have a great day fishing for Bass while also supporting a benefit to raise funds for hospitals helping kids everywhere! Cash prizes based on weight!

Where/When: Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Rd, Roswell, GA 30075, Friday September 16, 7:00pm–11:00pm

Why Go?: Bring a picnic along with your lawn chairs and blankets, enjoy great music, play on the playground and then settle in for movie fun with Tangled (rated PG). Movies begin at dark.

Where/When: Roswell's Historic Town Square, Saturday September 17, 10:00am–6:00pm

Why Go?: This annual event, sponsored by the Roswell Recreation Association, features continuous performing arts as well as artwork and crafts for sale. There will be a continuous shuttle running from City Hall to Town Square on both days. Free to the public.

Why Go?: Walk Like MADD is a 5K non-competitive family walk that raises funds to support MADD's mission of eliminating drunk driving, supporting victims and their families, and preventing underage drinking.

Where/When: , 11030 Medlock Bridge Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30097, Sunday September 18, 1:30pm–4:00pm

Why Go?: The Just Yell Fire™ program (www.justyellfire.org) teaches teen girls and young women how to fight back against predators and sexual assault. Just Yell Fire™ training is a single session approximately 2 1/2 hours in length. The training includes a video based component, an open discussion of dangers faced by teen girls and how to avoid them, and simple self-defense techniques that allow teen girls to injure and escape an attacker.

Price: $45 first child/$35 siblings

Where/When: The Standard Club, 230 Abbotts Bridge Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30097, September 19, 9:30am

Why Go?: Rotary Club of Johns Creek Golf Tournament will benefit the United Way of Forsyth County.
