Alpharetta Rotary Club Helps Shelterbox, HomeStretch

District grants will help fund projects by the two organizations.

The Alpharetta Rotary Club presented grants to two non-profit organizations that provide aid to families in crisis, but in much different situations.

HomeStretch, a Roswell-based organization helps families from across North Fulton, and has board members from across the area.

HomeStretch gives homeless parents and their children a safe and comfortable place to live while simultaneously helping them address the root causes of their situation and return to a life of self-reliance and stability.

ShelterBox responds instantly following natural and other disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those who need it most. Each ShelterBox supplies an extended family with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.

Rotarian Wayne Robinson, a member of the ShelterBox USA board, has been on many of those disaster relief trips himself.
