Alpharetta, Milton Residents Walk for Life

Teams raise money for American Cancer Society.

Alpharetta and Milton residents, businesses, schools and civic organizations on Friday night lined the football field at –now known as Milton Center–with tents offering everything from doughnuts made fresh on the spot to jambalaya pasta. Quite a few of them stayed all night as the 2011 Relay for Life raised funds for the American Cancer Society.

Once darkness had fallen, the attention went to celebrate and remember those who have had cancer, are survivors and the supporters of those people. The lights went out at the stadium, and the participants took a lap around the track with only the candles in their hands and the luminaries lighting their way.

As of this morning, Team ADP had already recorded more than $15,000 in donations alone. A total of 29 teams participated.
