Alpharetta Methodist Church Members Build Latrines for Village

A mission trip had 35 members of the local church helping the Honduran people.

Imagine a village so remote that its residents live without electricity or even running water. Thirty-five members of don't have to imagine it, they were there. They traveled to Vargas, Honduras, from Feb. 11-18, to serve the Honduran people.

One of the team’s main projects was building latrines. Work also included pouring concrete for floors, installing chimneys and mudding a house.

In addition, mission team members presented Vacation Bible School to 65 Honduran children.

The mission team included the Rev. Dr. Don Martin, senior pastor of the church, and his wife Lisa, Keith Allen, Tammy Allison, Paul Biesiadecki, Fred and Diane Buck, Lacey Dennis, Jeff Dunn, Mark Farrar, Carl Gilbert, Rex and Olivia Grizzle, Tracy Guilbault, Craig Hellmann, John and Karen Hipes, Rick and Kim Krejci, Cathy Linss, Richard and Laura Malek, Curt Miles, John and Deedee Muehlbauer, Tim Newton, David Nix, Paul Norfleet, Amy Pearson, Jerry and Jane Rogers, Richard Rowland, Wendy Russell, Jay Shiltz and Steve Smith.
