Alpharetta Garden Club Given Historical Treatment

The Historical Society hears about the club's 83-year history in a meeting at the Mansell House tonight.

The original Alpharetta Garden Club was formed in 1929, one of many historical facts that will be heard tonight at the .

The Alpharetta Historical Society's meeting tonight, May 17, features Judy Axtell, co-president of the Alpharetta Garden Club. She plans to share information on the original Alpharetta Garden Club, bringing those in attendance through the Garden Club’s history since its formation.

The Alpharetta Garden Club currently is solely responsible for cultivating and maintaining the gorgeous Mansell House gardens.

 The Alpharetta Historical Society (AHS) is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization governed by the State of Georgia.

The Mansell House & Gardens is located in Wills Park off Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta. It is a special events facility that can be rented as a place for families to celebrate the important events of life such as birth, marriages, graduations, reunions, showers, anniversaries, birthdays, Christenings and more.

The motto for the Alpharetta Historical Society is to “Preserve the Past, in the Present, for the Future”, helping inspire families, young and old, to find their passion for the life of yesteryear by maintaining and sharing its collections and through the preservation and dissemination of accurate historical information at AHS activities and workshops.
