Alpharetta Business Owners Don't Let Heat Stop Them

Temperatures in the high 90s didn't stop the Alpharetta Business Association (ABA) from holding a well-attended meeting Thursday, June 28 in tents set up outside a downtown Alpharetta business.

was the host business for ABA's meeting, which was part mixer, part networking and part membership meeting. Danny Broadway of Yesper Internet Strategy, another downtown business, led the meeting portion of the event.

Three upcoming events were discussed at the meeting:

A Midsummer's Night Mayor's Run & Fun, starting at 6:30 p.m. The movie portion of the event begins at 9 p.m. A Fun Run starts at 7 p.m. on Milton Avenue, with the 5K–a Peachtree Road Race qualifier–starting at 7:45 p.m. The family friendly movie is scheduled to be "Mirror, Mirror." The Rotary Club of Alpharetta presents this event.

The 60th annual Old Soldiers' Day Parade, Saturday, Aug. 4. The day starts at 9:15 a.m. with the Alpharetta City Band's performance at . The program, including presentation of the flag and guest speaker, follows at 10 a.m. with the parade starting at 10:30 a.m. This year the viewing area has expanded to include Milton Avenue. Along with the program and parade, this celebration will also feature floats, bands, entertainment, children’s activities, and prizes. Free hot dogs and soft drinks will be available at the at 201 Wills Road.

The second annual Brew Moon Fest, scheduled Saturday, Oct. 6 from 6:30 p.m.-11 p.m. This event is sponsored by ABA, and as the name suggests, it includes beer. It's intended for adults, so get a babysitter for the kids this night.
