Spring is around the corner...now, let's talk BEST Spring Break Getaways For Families!

I for one, as I'm sure most parents out there can attest to, am not the Spring Breaker that I used to be. Ten years ago, I would jump on that bandwagon right down to that rundown motel on the beaches of Panama City for a Spring Break adventure. Today, I'm more worried about the possibility of bunk-beds, as opposed to co-eds. Oh...what ten years can do to a girl!

So...with that said...below are the BEST places around Georgia to enjoy Spring Break Family-style. No beer bongs or banana-hammocks here! Check out these AWESOME places to enjoy your Spring Break with your most AWESOME kids!

1. GRAYTON BEACH, FL

I have brought my kids down here for the past few years in a row. If you are looking for beaches almost "all to yourself" and family-friendly restaurants and events, check this place out. Last time we went, we honestly came into contact with every sea creature EVER created. The kids loved it...plus, there's a real "laid-back, hippie" vibe to this place that I love. It's one of those places where you feel safe letting your kids explore. We love it here!

2. TYBEE ISLAND, GA

Ok, the kids and I LOVE Tybee Island. We also love camping. Tybee Island has the BEST campground this side of the Mississippi. Not only can you walk to the beach from the site, you can also take advantage of the AWESOME and CLEAN pool and shower rooms. My family is all about roughing it and throwing up that tent. But, if you have a camper, that is always AWESOME also. Campers really get into it there...I'm talking extravagant lighting and rugs. Just make sure to bring a fan! Also, take advantage of the the close drive to Savannah...my kids LOVED learning about all the history. Oh, and River Street was their favorite!

3. Hilton Head, SC

Hands down, one of my favorite vacation spots on EARTH! Classy, private, friendly...my kids and I love it here. This isn't the normal teeny-beach, party-central Spring Break spot. The beaches are beautiful and private, the atmosphere is serene...let's just say, you won't see any florescent lights blinking in this town. It's right out of a Dawson's Creek episode. Oh, Dawson.

4. St. Simons Island, GA

I have yet to get here myself, but, I have friends who go here yearly with their families and LOVE it! It's one of those coastal GA towns that feels like you belong there the second you step foot on the island.

5. Helen, GA

I was just talking to my kids today about how MUCH they LOVE Helen. They love tubing down the river, playing putt-putt...just the look of all of those little "elf" houses. Plus, they have some AWESOME campgrounds. There is nothing better to a kid than camping all night and hitting the riving and tubing in the morning. Nothing better.
