The winner-take-all soccer war set for Tuesday between the United States and Belgium has a casualty already: Belgian waffles.

Waffle House, based in Norcross, GA, says it’s 100 percent behind the United States men's soccer team despite the company’s namesake menu item, reports USA Today

The 24-hour diner chain does not offer Belgian waffles on its menu, because that would be un-American, says the newspaper, and it's urging U.S. fans to boycott the waffles leading up to Tuesday's game.

The chain tweeted: “We don't believe in Belgium waffles.”

American soccer fans in the throes of 2014 FIFA World Cup mania have reason to be optimistic as the underdog Team USA heads into the match against Belgium.

U.S. striker Jozy Altidore, who left the June 16 game against Ghana early with a hamstring injury, is ready to play, reports ESPN.

The game begins at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday and will be carried on ESPN.

The U.S. must defeat Belgium to stay in the tournament. See a preview here of this knockout round game.
