Raiders Baseball Will Take Their Game to Turner Field

Alpharetta High's varsity team will play North Forsyth in a Region 6-AAAAA game on April 20.

Players on the the Alpharetta High Raiders varsity baseball team will get to play ball at Turner Field this season. No, the Braves haven't called them up, but they are letting the team play a home game against North Forsyth on April 20.

The two high school teams will be treated like they've been called up to the big leagues, playing in a major league stadium with major league facilities and major league grounds crew.

The Region 6-AAAAA game will be played only a week after the Braves home opener. The Braves will be in Arizona playing the Diamondbacks later that night.

"It's a great opportunity to get up close and personal to the game on the field, support our Raiders, hang out with friends and family from Alpharetta and watch a great game on a leisurely Friday night," according to the school's website.

And like the TV commercials say, "But wait, there's more!" As part of this program, the Atlanta Braves organization invites Alpharetta residents and Braves fans to an Alpharetta Family Night on April 30 for their game versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. It's a night in which the school says will be a night in which the entire Alpharetta community can come together at a game to cheer on the Braves, be friends and families from around Alpharetta and enjoy the spring night.
