Milton running back Peyton Barber may have returned to the football field just in time to give the Eagles what they need to push for a playoff berth.

The junior missed the first six games of the season with an ankle injury, but returned to lead the Eagles to a 42-30 win over Northview last week.

Barber rushed 18 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns as Milton gained 334 yards in the win.

Sophomore Treyvon Paulk, who has been the starter in Barber’s place, added 127 yards and a TD.

Other top performers:

Colin McElroy, quarterback: Completed 7 of 11 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown.

Ryan Jenkins, wide receiver: Had five pass receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Chris Mills, punter: Averaged 39.8 yards on five punts, all of which were inside the 20.

Jalen Simmons, running back: Rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries; five pass receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns.

Joshua Dobbs, quarterback: Completed 26 of 42 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns.

Kyle Wilson, wide receiver: Five pass receptions for 47 yards.

Adam Schildhammer, wide receiver: Had four receptions for 55 yards.

Carlos Burse, wide receiver: Three receptions for 101 yards and two TDs.

Bryce Grauss: Eight solo tackles.

Naim Mustaffa: Five solo tackles, one assist, 2.5 tackles for losses.

Bailey Miller, quarterback: The sophomore completed 14 of 20 passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns.

Devon Schmitt, receiver: The senior had eight pass receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

Julian Champ, receiver/defensive back: The junior had a 16-yard touchdown reception and a potentially game-saving interception on the 5 yard line with less than 2 minutes left in the game.
