"It's been a long process," Kamara said during a live telecast of his announcement on ESPNU Wednesday afternoon. "Next season I'll be playing football at the University of Alabama."
Kamara, ranked as the No. 2 running back in the nation by Rivals.com, led Norcross to the Class AAAAAA championship in the fall.
Kamara's decision was the second dramatic National Signing Day announcement in Gwinnett County Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Grayson defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, the top overall prospect in the nation, chose Ole Miss over LSU and Florida.
