Milton Falls to Dacula in Baseball Playoff Doubleheader

Milton pitching, throwing errors costly in opener.

The Milton Eagles fell to the visiting Dacula Falcons in both games of the Class AAAAA State Baseball Tournament.

The Milton Eagles led Dacula for most of the opener of a state playoff baseball game, but things came unglued in the final inning as the Falcons lit up the scoreboard to come from behind and win.

The Falcons held on to win the second game, too, eliminating the Eagles from the state tourney. Dacula will play Mill Creek on May 11 in the next round of the playoffs.

In the first game, everything was going fine for Milton. The Eagles never trailed until the seventh inning, when pitching mistakes and throwing errors gave the Falcons a lead that won them the game.

Walks, hit batters, hits and a grand slam filled Dacula's half of the seventh inning, and  9-3 win. Milton had three runs on seven hits and no errors, while Dacula put up nine runs on eleven hits with one error. Most of those hits were in the final inning.
