The Milton Boys Feeder Lacrosse program announces unprecedented growth for the 2014 spring season with a record 10 teams and 200 players in grades 2 to 8 that will feed into the Milton High School boys lacrosse program, which is currently ranked in the top 3 in the state by laxpower.com and No. 5 in the south.

“We are honored that the legacy and tradition of Milton Lacrosse is being carried on by 200 young players this season, ranging from those who will be entering Milton High School next year, to middle school players, all the way down to third grade boys in our local elementary schools,” said Coach Tom Dell, varsity coach for Milton High School boys lacrosse. “It’s very exciting that there is such a huge population of young players, talent and passion for the game of lacrosse in our Milton feeder program. A quality feeder program is the future of Milton Men’s Lacrosse.”

Michael Windeler, who was recently elected president of the Milton Boys Feeder board of directors, expressed that the Milton Boys Feeder Lacrosse program is fortunate to have many former college and high school players on an experienced volunteer coaching staff.

The feeder coaches work closely with the Milton High School Men’s Lacrosse coaches for guidance on player tryouts, practice drills, and offensive and defensive game strategy. Young players in the feeder program have the opportunity to experience the excitement of playing lacrosse in the Milton High School stadium.

“Our mission is to deliver state champion level players to our high school program, but first these young players will be challenged to do the right thing, to give back to their community and respect their opponent," said Windeler. We believe in them. Our feeder program coaching philosophy is about building the whole person, not just winning the game.”

The Milton Boys Feeder Lacrosse program is currently comprised of 10 teams of all ages and level of play, from beginner to competitive. The program is currently registering players for a limited number of spots in for the fall 2014 season due to many returning members. An early registration discount is available. Registration for the spring season will open in the fall.
