King's Ridge Loses a Close One, 21-20 to Strong Rock

The Tigers fell to 2-1 overall with the loss.

King's Ridge Christian suffered its first loss of the season Friday, losing 21-20 at Strong Rock Christian.

The Tigers are now 2-1 overall.

King's Ridge was led by sophomore quarterback Bailey Miller, who completed 15-of-25 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, according to the team's statistician.

Senior receiver Devon Schmitt caught eight passes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Junior Julian Champ had four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Freshman Penny Hart rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown.

"I'm very proud of how our team fought back from adversity," coach Jeff Pickren said. "This was a tough one to lose. We became a better football team tonight and will build upon it."

The Tigers play next week at Fellowship Christian.
