Over 300 runners and walkers gathered at on Northwinds Parkway on Thursday to participate in the 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk.  The race benefits the Alpharetta Police Athletic League.

The race route took the runners and walkers down Kimball Bridge Road to Westside Parkway over to Haynes Bridge Road and back up Northwinds Parkway to Jackson Healthcare.

The overall winner of the race was Erin Fillingim.  The winner in the men's race was Kevin Gibson.

The Alpharetta Police Athletic/Activities League (AlphaPAL) is a 501c3 nonprofit community based outreach organization created to provide a variety of services to North Fulton youth while establishing a bond of mutual respect, understanding and trust with the Alpharetta Police and community leaders, according to its website.
