The Milton school's first varsity win caused the team and coaches to break out into song.

It's not often that a football team in full pads, sweaty and aching from a long night on the gridiron breaks out into song. If you didn't stay in the stands after the St. Francis High game against North Cobb Christian on Sept. 23, you probably missed it.

Every time the Knights scored, the Eagles eventually came back and tied the game. The difference in the game came in the second overtime.

Both teams missed the extra point in the first OT after scoring touchdowns. But when the North Cobb Christian offense faltered in the second OT, coaches opted for a field goal, putting their hopes on the defense to stop St. Francis short of the goal line.

That hope was lost when St. Francis quarterback Joey Roche dove just enough to get the ball across the line, sealing the victory–and setting the stage for a song.
