Area High Schools Start Own Versions of 'Friday Night Lights'

Pleasant weather forecast for football game time.

You won't overheat during tonight's high school football games–unless maybe you're out on the field playing. The National Weather Service predicts the temperature will be in the low 70s by game time.

But grab a sweatshirt with your team's logo on it–or buy one from the booster club at the game, because it will dip down to the mid-60s by the end of the game (or low 60s if it goes into triple overtime like Alpharetta and Duluth did a few weeks ago!) Grab a cap with the logo and not only will you stay comfortably warm, you'll be showing team spirit. (Warning: Not all booster clubs sell gear, so pack one of your own along to be safe.)

at : Alpharetta (3-1) opens its play in Region 6-AAAAA schedule with a Northview team (1-3) that has seen a couple of games get away late after taking early leads.

at : The Tigers have been pretty consistent in compiling a 3-1 record, but this week brings a trip to Pace Academy, a team that has lost a good bit of talent off last year’s 9-2 team.

at : This game matches two private school playing non-region schedules and learning the ropes. Note the new game time of 7:30 p.m. because St. Francis now has lights. (Look for the Patch editor on the sidelines. He'll look a lot like me, because I'm covering this game in person.)
