Alpharetta Offers Ways to Weigh Less
The Recreation and Parks Department has classes and lessons to help local resident get fit.
The Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department wants you to get fit, or stay fit. Whether it's Zumba, Crossfit, tennis or women's running, there's a program for you. The following programs were announced by the city in a news release:
Zumba: Ditch the Workout Join the Party. Zumba eliminates the work from working out by combining amazing, irresistible Latin and international music with dynamic, yet simple exercise moves, using their unique intermittent training format. Fun and music are the two special motivational ingredients. Everyone is invited, from teens to seniors, and both women and men.
Age 15 and up
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:15 p.m.
4 p.m. on Thursdays.
$52 Residents or $78 Non-Residents for any 1 day
$86 Residents or $129 Non-Residents for any 2 days.
Drop-in fees are $8 Residents or $12 Non-Residents.

Operation Crossfit: Have you had your “FIT” today? CrossFit is “constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement". It is a workout routine with a balance of weight training, cardio, and gymnastics. CrossFit is designed for universal scalability allowing people of all abilities to participate and benefit with quick results. CrossFit is a true improvement of physical capability, physique, discipline, and dedication. www.operationcrossfit.com
Monday, Wednesday, & Friday at 6am, 7am, noon, 4:30pm and 5:30pm, and at 8:30am on Saturdays.
Cost per month is $160 Residents or $240 Non-Residents.
Reduced rates are offered to active and retired military, fire, and police personnel.
Drop-in fees are $10 Residents or $15 Non-Residents.

Tennis Lessons at Wills Park & Webb Bridge Park
Session 1 for youth (age 4 & up) and adults will be held September 10-October 13. Session 2 begins October 29. For a complete list of tennis offerings, check out the Fall/Winter Leisure Guide at www.alpharetta.ga.us/recreation.
Women’s 101 Beginning Running
Fall session will be held Sept. 5 through Oct. 24 at Wills Park. This program is for ladies age 15 & up. Class is offered from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Cost is $55 Residents or $82.50 Non-Residents.
