Windward Rotary Club Honors Top Students, Teachers

The service organization honors the quarter's best from Creek View Elementary, Webb Bridge Middle and Alpharetta High schools.

Three students and three teachers from three different Alpharetta schools were honored as being among the best by the Windward Rotary Club recently.

The Windward Rotary Club awards Student and Teacher of the Quarter awards for , and schools. Each school has its own nomination and selection process, with teachers nominating students and usually the teachers being nominated by their peers.

Students are selected in part for their work in community service, an important trait for the service organization. Alpharetta High's top student this quarter, for example, has compiled 500 hours of community service just in his participating and leadership of the Civil Air Patrol chapter. That's on top of a full schedule of courses, plus starting as a defensive lineman on the varsity football team.
