Taking College Courses in High School Got More Expensive

The state will only pay tuition costs for Alpharetta High students participating in a dual enrollment program with Georgia Perimeter College, leaving fees to parents.

Taking college courses while still enrolled in high school just got a bit more expensive for parents, as the state will only fund the cost of tuition in the Dual Enrollment Accel Program at Alpharetta High in cooperation with Georgia Perimeter College.

announced in an email bulletin today that the Georgia Department of Education and the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget will only pay for tuition effected July 1.

Parents are now responsible for student fees, which is $195 for a one semester college course. If a student takes more than one college course at Georgia Perimeter College, additional charges will be made.
