Storyteller Weaves 'Magic' to Inspire Reading at Manning Oaks

Students were challenged to read over the holiday break.

Ken Scott, the "Magical Storyteller," performed his magic show entitled "One World Magical Stories" for students at in December.

In his show, Scott encouraged students to check out books from the media center, obtain a public library card, taught them where to find certain books in the library, taught about different countries, and emphasized care for books through his creative and engaging magic show.

The cheers and screams were electric as Ken Scott turned a stuffed rabbit into a real one, did magic with a dancing handkerchief, and introduced Croco, a funny and cantankerous Alligator puppet, who turned three hankies into an American Flag.   His show is a great way to send off children and encourage them to read over the holiday break.

“Over the past twelve years Mr. Scott has amazed and educated our students with humor and magic,” said Ms. Power, a third grade teacher
