Special Athletes Need Funding to Train, Compete

More than 600 athletes with special needs–including students at Alpharetta High, Indepdence High, New Prospect, Lake Windward and Alpharetta Elementary schools–need funds for training and to attend competitions.

The Fulton County Schools Special Olympics program is running a capital campaign to raise money to pay for training and competitions held throughout the school year. Athletes in the Fulton County Schools program train for and compete in bowling; bocce; softball; volleyball; basketball; tennis and athletics.

Special Olympians from ; Holcomb Bridge; ; Elkins Point; ; Roswell High School; Centennial High School; ; Sweet Apple;  Woodland Charter; , Mimosa; Abbott's Hill; Lake Windward Elementary and train for eight weeks prior to each competition.
