Siemens Training S. Forsyth Students to Qualify for Jobs

Partnership will help graduates compete for employment with international companies.

An international company with a local manufacturing plan is working to ensure students will qualify for jobs with global companies.

Siemens, which has a manufacturing plant in Alpharetta, has partnered with Georgia Foundation for Public Education to provide training for Georgia students to qualify for jobs with international companies in the state. Siemens has provided training materials worth $500,000.

The program was rolled out in South Forsyth High School and will eventually include internships as well as opportunities for students to study in Germany, where Siemens is based.

“We are excited to assist the Georgia educational community with the launch of this educational program,” says Helmuth Ludwig, CEO of Siemens Industry Sector North America, in a press release. “This partnership is consistent with our values – Responsible, Excellent and Innovative – and it will promote STEM initiatives throughout the Southeast region of the United States.  Through this program, companies like Siemens will be able to identify and develop the next generation of outstanding employees.”
