Principal 'Hot Dogs' for Student, Teacher Efforts

Kirk Shrum, Manning Oaks principal, gave his students and teachers a reward after CRCT testing week.

Kirk Shrum, principal of in Alpharetta, rewarded students and staff for a great CRCT testing week with a hotdog lunch for teachers and a “Hat Day” for students and staff.

The Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) are a set of tests administered at public schools in the state of Georgia that are designed to test the knowledge of students in reading, English/language arts (ELA), mathematics, science and social studies. Paula Boston, media specialist at the school said the students at Manning Oaks felt great about their efforts and enjoyed a special day with their hats.

Ms. Harris, a Manning Oaks teacher, said “Mr. Shrum has a great sense of humor and deep care for his staff.  He goes the extra mile by serving the staff hotdogs while wearing a hotdog hat on hotdog/hat day!”
