King's Ridge Christian Opens New High School, Life Center

The 2013-2014 school year starts in a few weeks, and the new school buildings in Alpharetta near Cambridge High and North Park were completed in plenty of time.

A construction fire a few months ago didn't slow preparations for King's Ridge Christian School's new high school and the Hendrick Center for Life Impact.

But the school's Shuntel Beach said attention also should be given to the middle school, which used to house both high school and middle school classes. The school has been repurposed exclusively for middle school, and its front facade now looks like it, too.

Architects Bob Sussenbach and Michael Williamson spent the time for the community open house not only visiting with parents, students and supporters, but also checking out how well their designs came together during construction.

The two-story high school includes collaborative rooms allowing small groups of students and/or teachers to work on projects outside of the larger classrooms.
