Fulton School System Sets Make-Up Days in March, April

Six snow and ice days were more than the four built into the school calendar, so two Fridays become school days.

Students will make up two of the six snow and ice days lost in December and January, the Fulton County School System announced Tuesday morning, Jan. 18.
Teachers will make-up additional workdays.Β
The state Board of Education has rules that allow up to four weather days to be forgiven during the school year, but six school days have been canceled during the 2010-2011 school year, according to the school system's press release.
Student make-up days will be Friday, March 11, which was set aside as a teacher workday, and Friday, April 22, which originally was a day off for both students and teachers.
Teachers will have a workday on Monday, Feb. 21, which was previously a student and teacher holiday, and also will work Friday, April 22. They will have two additional post-planning days on June 2 and June 3.Β

Make-up days for other employee groups that work on a different contractual calendar are still being determined.
