Reeves Changes Day for January Community Meeting

The Fulton School Board member had to move her meeting to Tuesday, and residents are still invited to attend to learn about issues, share opinions and concerns.

 

UPDATED 4 p.m., Jan. 14: Each member of the Fulton County Board of Education sponsors a monthly meeting open to all members of the community. The sessions provide an opportunity for direct contact with community members and give board members a chance to listen to local issues and concerns.

Katie Reeves, who represents the Milton and Alpharetta high school clusters in District 2, has moved her meeting up one day. She now will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 9: 30 a.m. in Northwestern Middle School.  Cambridge High, scheduled to open in Milton next school year, is likely to be discussed. supporters promised to attend. However, the school board and superintendent have declared that school's charter renewal to no longer be an issue until the next application cycle. Questions about where children from the school are likely to attend in the 2012-2013 school year can be expected, since the charter school will be closed if it doesn't get a state charter by this summer. .

Fulton County Board of Education members have hosted these community meetings for a number of years and are believed to be one of the few school boards in the country to use such a process for gathering input.
