Fulton County School System Makes Decision on Tuesday Classes

Extreme cold weather was given as the reason for the decision.

Parents and students need to make other plans for Tuesday, as all Fulton County schools will be closed due to extreme cold temperatures in the Atlanta area.

The school system announced through social media that all extracurricular events, such as athletics practices, clubs, and field trips, are also cancelled.

All Fulton County school and central office employees scheduled to work on Tuesday should report no later than 10 a.m. However, bus drivers, school nutrition workers and production chefs do not need to report.

State law allows school systems to cancel up to four days of school for severe weather without requiring make-up days.

The school system asks parents, teachers and staff to stay tuned to the school system’s website, social media channels (Twitter and Facebook) and local news stations for any updates.
