Fourth Grader Wins Manning Oaks Spelling Bee

Aratrika Kar heads to Fulton County event after spelling incoherently.

Fourth grader Aratrika Kar won Manning Oaks Elementary School's spelling bee, part of the National Spelling Bee sponsored by the Georgia Association of Educators this year.  Scripps National Spelling Bee, Washington, D.C. chooses the words each year for the school wide spelling bees. 

 Fourth grader, Aratrika Kar, won the spelling bee this year by spelling the word incoherently correctly.  She will now proceed to the Fulton County Spelling Bee on Feb. 2.  Ariana Taylor, a fifth grader, came in second place.
