Former principal Chris Triolo resigned earlier this month. He worked closely with Tesch before his departure.

Tesch, a Michigan native, has led administrations for many high schools, several of them Blue Ribbon schools, such as Ann Harbor Huron High School in Michigan, suburban Chicago Highland Park High School, and Edina High School in suburban Minneapolis.

Milton High School became an award-winning institution during his 12 years there. Many of Milton’s faculty members and staff have received recognition, and Tesch took the school community through a successful new building project. He also strongly encouraged and implement curricula that helped teachers to work more as teams to plan and teach across disciplines, one of Riverwood’s core IB initiatives.

Despite having retired, Tesch was willing to get back in the game to help Riverwood through the winter and spring until a new principal is hired.

"I knew Riverwood needed someone to come in to a unique situation and I think my skills and experience dovetail nicely with Riverwood’s needs and goals,” said Tesch.
