New Adult Education Scheduled for Alpharetta

Senior Enriched Living is offering a new schedule of interesting classes starting September 18 and 20!  This fall, Tuesday classes will be held at the Roswell United Methodist Church, 95 Pratt Street, Roswell, while Thursday classes will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 535 Rucker Road in Alpharetta. 

 

For the past 20 years, the quality of instruction and group participation has made SEL an outstanding intellectual and social experience.  Each semester several hundred people interested in lifelong learning get together once or twice a week. Members call it “the best educational value around!”

SEL’s $40 quarterly membership fee entitles all adults to enroll in an 8-week schedule of interesting and varied course offerings. The membership fee includes all classes offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

This fall courses on Tuesday include Shakespeare’s “Problem Plays”, Fabulous Fifties, Lindbergh- Hero or Traitor? and From Teddy Roosevelt to Harry Truman.  Classes on Thursday include Art History Potpourri, China: From Confucius to Chairman Mao, A Search for Civil Rights, Spirit of the Great American West, and India: The Past, Present & Future.  Instructors volunteer their time and generally have advanced degrees.

 

Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Classes, Watercolor Painting, Current Events and a Financial Workshop are just some of the additional options.

 

An $8 hot lunch, catered by Mom's Table in Roswell, is available on Thursdays.

A non-profit interfaith community organization, SEL classes are the ideal place for persons interested in discussing ideas, gaining knowledge and meeting new friends. Throughout the year, classes are held in various area churches.
