Alpharetta Student Competes for Miss Brenau Title

Kelaiah Rae Wilson is in the hunt for a substantial scholarship.

An Alpharetta student at Brenau University will be competing tonight and Saturday, Feb. 3-4, in the Miss Breanau scholarship competition.

Kelaiah Rae Wilson, a freshman majoring in mass communication is a Northview High graduate, is a finalist in the prestigious Miss Brenau scholarship in the competition that is scheduled to wind up Feb. 3 and 4 on the Gainesville campus of the 134-year-old women's college.

The Miss Brenau Scholarship Competition selects a first-year Women's College student who best exemplifies the Brenau Ideal.

Miss Brenau contestants are judged by a panel of alumnae, faculty and others on a written essay, personal interview, and on-stage talent. The competition is held during Winter Weekend each year, a time when prospective students visit the campus to learn more about Brenau. The Miss Brenau winner receives a substantial scholarship to be used her sophomore year.

The talent competition is Friday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. in Pearce Auditorium. The Miss Brenau selection occurs Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. in Pearce.
