Alpharetta Music School Gets New Owner

Peggy-Still Johnson will still be involved with school that bears her name.

Local businessman Brian Johnson has become a majority partner in , it was announced on Nov. 17.

School founder Peggy Still Johnson reached an agreement with him to become a majority partner in owning and managing the School. He has been serving as president of the school since joining it in mid-August of 2011.

“Like me, Brian deeply believes that our school has the potential (and maybe even the responsibility) to enrich lives and make our communities better places to live and grow in,” said Mrs.Still-Johnson. “He is extremely excited to dig in with me, our teachers and, most of all, our students and their families to help our School continue to grow and prosper into the future.”

He said he was delighted to get to work with the founder, students, parents and teachers at the school.

"We want to continue to build on the excellent foundation of success they have established over the years, while also bringing in some common sense but innovative business and customer service practices to the School," he said. "Music is one of those fundamental life forces that make a community unique and strong. We are thrilled to have the chance to bring the many joys and benefits of music to our local communities across the metro Atlanta area."

He has more than 17 years of professional business management experience in a variety of disciplines including executive management, operations, software development and design, mergers and acquisitions and marketing.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in English Writing with and Emphasis in Business from Florida State University, and a Masters of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.

He lives in Milton with his wife of over 20 years, Kathy. Their sons, Jack, 11, and Luke, 8 attend in Milton.

Founded in 1988, The Peggy Still School of Music has grown to more than 500 students and 40 teachers serving metro Atlanta from loccations in Atlanta, Woodstock and Alpharetta.
