Alpharetta, Milton TAG Teachers Awarded Grants

Hopewell Middle and Alpharetta Elementary teachers were among those who received grants from Fulton Supporters of the Gifted.

Hopwell Middle and Alpharetta Elementary teachers were among teachers who received grants at the Fulton County Talented and Gifted Teacher seminars by Fulton County Supporters of the Gifted.

These included grants to Tom Sewell of Hopewell Middle School, Mariso DiSano, Jennifer Bear, Crystal Dorn and Laura Tavel from River Trail Middle School, Maryann D’Amelio and Suzanne O’Brien from Alpharetta Elementary School and Ann Scott Hanks of Ocee Elementary School. The grants enabled the teachers to purchase science supplies, scientific testing kits, and curriculum support books that would not have been available through normal school funding.

FCSG is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, totally staffed by volunteers who, through membership dues and corporate grants, provide student academic camp scholarships, teacher grants, registration fees for teacher professional development and host working luncheons for teachers throughout the year.  FCSG also hosts a fall and spring lecture series for teachers and members on gifted education at no cost to members. There are some 9,000 Talented and Gifted students in Fulton County Schools and membership in FCSG by families and teachers supports the education of our best and brightest students.
