Alpharetta, Milton Residents Earn Grades to Make College Dean's Lists

Schools from Birmingham to Milton–Massachusetts, that is–had GPAs that put them in their college's elite.

Lanham, Norman Earn GPA High Enough for Law School's Dean's List

Some area residents have been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law. They are:

  • Shane Michael Lanham of Milton.
  • Brittany Samantha Norman of Johns Creek.

To qualify for the honor at the Birmingham, AL, school, a student must have earned a minimum 3.0 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 10 credit hours of coursework.

Alpharetta's Latagliata Attains Membership to Curry College Dean's List

Curry College's Chief Academic Officer David Potash announced that John Latagliata of Alpharetta attained membership to the Curry College Dean's List for the Fall 2011 term.

To qualify for the Dean's List at the Milton, MA, college, students must earn a 3.30 G.P.A., have no incompletes, and have no grade lower than a "C" for the semester. Full-time students must carry 12 or more graded credits for the semester; part-time students must be matriculated, carrying 6-11.5 graded credits for the semester, and must have earned a cumulative total of 15 graded credits in consecutive semesters.

 Savage Named to Saint Anselm College's Dean's List

The Rev. Augustine Kelly, O.S.B., dean of the college, announced that Tyler J. Savage, a Business major, was named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH.

Savage, a resident of Alpharetta, is a member of the class of 2013.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must compile a grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Bobik Earns Way Onto Mount St. Mary's Dean's List

 Courtney Bobik, from Alpharetta, is among the 522 students who achieved the honor of Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Mount St. Mary's University.

Courtney, a junior at the Mount, achieved Dean's List by maintaining a 3.4 or higher grade point average. Courtney is the daughter of Richard Bobik.

Mount St. Mary's University of Emmitsburg, MD, established in 1808, is the nation's second oldest Catholic university in the nation.

 Patel's Grades Put Him on Connecticut College's Dean's List

Adam Patel, a member of the class of 2015 at Connecticut College and a resident of Alpharetta, has been named to the Dean's Honors list for the 2011 fall semester.

At Connecticut College, Dean's Honors is a recognition for students who have earned a grade point average of at least 3.66.

Situated on the coast of southern New England at New London, Connecticut College is a highly selective private liberal arts college with 1,900 students from all across the country and throughout the world.

 Whitaker's 4.0 GPA More Than Enough for Wofford College Dean's List

Dr. David S. Wood, senior vice president of academic affairs and dean of Wofford College, has announced the Dean's List students for the Fall 2011 Semester, including Justin William Whitaker of Alpharetta, who had a 4.0 GPA.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled for at least 12 semester hours of graded courses and attain a semester grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Wofford College, established in 1854, is an independent liberal arts college of 1,550 students in Spartanburg, S.C.
