Benton House of Alpharetta Announces Expansion

The company plans to spend $1.8 million on its addition, which will feature 10 senior living apartments and new memory care neighborhood.

A new senior living community in Alpharetta has announced plans to expand. '

Benton House of Alpharetta plans to add 10 new senior living apartments, and a new memory care neighborhood.

"We’re so grateful for the response the community has given Benton House," said Julie Taylor, executive director for Benton House. "To have grown so quickly in just a year is really quite an achievement...the staff and I are just really proud and excited."

The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the expansion with a groundbreaking at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17 at the facility's location, 762 North Main Street.

Benton House currently serves over 60 residents, and includes senior living apartments and a neighborhood dedicated to serving seniors experiencing memory loss.

The new memory care neighborhood will be similar to the current one in terms of size and amenities, Taylor added. The neighborhoods will also be connected by a hallway, but they will have their own living, dining and common areas and enclosed courtyards.

"We really think the community within a community concept works well and want to keep that feel," Taylor added.

The addition is projected to cost around $1.8 million, and is expected to open later this year. Batson-Cook Construction is the builder and the project is being financed by Atlantic Capital Bank. The project is slated to bring between 15 and 20 new jobs to add to Benton's staff of 40 employees.

Reservations for the new apartments are now being accepted. To learn more or to schedule a personal visit to Benton House call (678) 319-3000.
