Windward, Westside Repaving Moved to Overnight Hours

Repaving at the Windward/Westside parkway intersection will start at 7 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. tonight and Friday.

The city of Alpharetta will shift repaving work set to occur at the intersection of Windward and Westside parkway today and Friday to the overnight hours.

Work will begin at 7 p.m. tonight and Friday and crews will work throughout the night until 6 a.m. the following day.

The change is due to the rainy conditions that hit the city earlier this week.

"By shifting the work to the overnight hours, contractors will have more uninterrupted work time and will be able to complete the project by the weekend," the city said in a news release.

However, drivers are still encouraged to seek alternate routes. Specifically, those who are traveling east and west should use Old Milton Parkway/Georgia Highway 120 as their primary route.

Motorists traveling north and south should consider using North Point Parkway or Georgia Highway 9 as alternates.
