Threat of Thundertorms, Tornadoes Cancels Food Truck Alley

The city of Alpharetta announced tonight's food truck event in downtown has been cancelled.

Alpharetta's Special Events manager announced that for the safety of local residents and visitors, the first Alpharetta Food Truck Alley has been cancelled.

"In consider of the safety of all, we will cancel Alpharetta Food Truck Alley this evening," said Kim Dodson in her announcement this morning. "The forecast predicts heavy thunderstorms and possible tornados coming in around 6-7 p.m.

"We look forward to launching the weekly event next Thursday, April 18," Dodson said.

The Food Truck Alley was to be held off Old Roswell Street in downtown Alpharetta starting at 5 p.m. By that time the forecast for rain would be above 80 percent, with winds gusting and the possibility of severe thunderstorms. That's not good weather for an outdoor event.
