Tell Alpharetta How Main Street Should Look

The city holds its second Envision Main Street Alpharetta meeting Tuesday night, asking residents to look at the section of GA 9 from Old Milton Parkway to Windward Parkway.

Alpharetta wants to know what you want Main Street to look like, and the city his holding another interactive public meeting for Envision Main Street Alpharetta on Tuesday night at the Devore House.

Residents are invited to drop in at anytime during the four hours the doors are open to offer their opinions.  But don't look for a set of plans from the city. Those won't be made until after city staff processes all of the requests made at the meetings and online.

You can have your own design drawn by an artist who will be at the meeting for that purpose. Just tell her your ideas, and she will put pencil to paper and draw those, whether you want angled parking, parallel parking, no parking, trees, narrow sidewalks or wide multi-purpose trails and anything else that comes to mind. Want just two lanes of traffic? She'll draw what that looks like.

The several dozen residents who attended the previous meeting generally wanted sidewalks, but don't make them too narrow. They were not interested in medians, with some even calling the existing median near Old Milton Parkway ugly.
