Newt's Out, Two Left in Bid for Republican Nomination

Tell us what you think about the candidates left in the Republican Presidential bid race?

With the campaign suspension announcement of Georgia's own Newt Gingrich on Wednesday afternoon, the field of Republican candidates is narrowed significantly.

Gingrich, , posted a web video addressing his decision on Tuesday and made his official announcement on Wednesday, according to reports by The Huffington Post.

Though the race began slowly during 2011 packed with hopefuls, including Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain, now just Mitt Romney and Ron Paul remain as official Republican candidates for the party's nomination.

According to delegate counts on Real Clear Politics, Romney's delegate count is 865, in comparison to Paul's 93.

So we want to know, how do you feel about announcement? Was it inevitable? Do you believe Republicans have a shot at the White House?

I believe if the question is "who is best to go against Obama?", the clear choice would be Ron Paul. Romney will have a strong backing with many Republicans without a doubt. But for the most part, support stays within those bounds. Ron Paul on the other hand has very strong support across party lines, pulling from Tea Party supporters , Independants, and many democrats as well. When you think of where each of their support lies, for Obama and Romney, it's clearly within their own camps. Paul would truly be the best choice for a less divided country, but in that same regard, will be the reason he will continue to be marginalized by the mainstream media.
