Rain Pushes McGinnis Ferry Road Closing Back a Week

Originally scheduled this weekend, bad weather has forced contractors to reschedule bridge work for a week.

It's not a baseball game, but the planned closure of a section of McGinnis Ferry Road this weekend to fix a bridge has been rained out.

The city of Alpharetta said the weather forecast has forced contractors to reschedule the closure of McGinnis Ferry between Union Hill Road and McFarland Parkway. Instead of this weekend, the closure will be May 3-6.

The roadway will be closed starting at 7 p.m. that Friday, and will reopen at 6 a.m. the following Monday. Only access to the local businesses inside that section of roadway will be permitted.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on McGinnis Ferry Road will be detoured to Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
