Qualifying has come to an end in Alpharetta, but is still ongoing in Milton.
Alpharetta resident Douglas DeRito qualified to run for the Post 1 seat, currently held by incumbent Donald Mitchell, who qualified on Monday.
In Milton, incumbent Mayor Joe Lockwood qualified to run for re-election.
So far in Milton, Bill Lusk of District 2/Post 1 and Karen Thurman of District 1/Post 1 have both qualified to run for re-election while resident Rick Mohrig also qualified to fill the unexpired term of the District 3/Post 2 seat in a special election.
Earlier this month, Council member Lance Large announced plans to resign this fall from the seat, which still has an additional two years in the current term.
Alpharetta incumbents Mike Kennedy of Post 2 and Chris Owens of Post 3 also qualified earlier this week.
Qualifying continues in the city of Milton in the office of city clerk between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Milton City Hall. The address for city hall is 13000 Deerfield Parkway Suite 107.
The fees in Milton to quality for mayor is $690 and is $390 for city council seats.
