Old Milton-North Point Parkways Project Getting $1.2 Million Upgrade

The 15-month project will add lanes, widen others and is designed to improve traffic flow.

 

In late January road construction will make the Old Milton Parkway-North Point Parkway intersection interesting to drive through. But just keep in mind that the 15-month, $1.2 million project is supposed to pay off with better traffic flow once it's completed.

State Transportation Board Member Brandon Beach, who also is president and CEO of the , said recently that the construction project to upgrade the GA 120 intersection with North Point Parkway should be completed by April 30, 2013.

“This project will greatly enhance the traffic flow through this very heavily travelled intersection,” said Beach, who represents the Sixth Congressional District on the board. “I am glad that we can get the project underway for the citizens of Alpharetta and anyone who is coming to or leaving the mall area.”

The $1.2 million project was awarded to C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. and includes several safety and operational enhancements. The right turns will be widened to make those turns easier for motorists to navigate. New signals will be installed and left turn lanes will be installed on all four approaches as well.
