Milton Will Hold FY 2014 Budget Public Hearing

The balanced budget is based upon the city holding its millage rate steady.

Milton residents on Wednesday will have a chance to speak out on the city's proposed fiscal year 2014 budget.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Milton City Hall, and the council will hold the hearing during its meeting. The meeting was rescheduled due to the Labor Day holiday.

The balanced budget, which is based upon a tax rate of 4.731, is proposed at $20.2 million.

Another public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 16 during the regular council meeting, and the body is slated to approve the budget during that meeting.

Council members will also consider approving an agreement with Custom Canine Unlimited LLC to provide the Milton Police Department with a trained police K-9 and training for a K-9 officer.
